Brought a back box from someone to fit to my gsi. However upon going to fit it today ive noticed it is a completly different shape and has about 2 feet of extra pipe that i dont need

On my gsi the join from the exhust to the back box is just after the box itself as seen in the pic below:

However the backbox i have looks like this:

And when lined up under the car comes to here:

I think it may fit if i cut the pipe work however i am also worried that the exhust has an upwards sweep in the pipe which may interfere with the under side of the car

Is there anyway i can find out what this fits seeing as it doesnt apear to be a corsa back box

Cheers Gavin

misunderstanding in the sale i belive

I have since found out it is part of a corsa full system.
So im going to go to a custom exhust place to get it fitted or try and track down the other part of the magnex system if i can buy it seperatly.

no, its a back box, from a full system.. designed for a 2" bore magnex center section, and not for the standard middle section

like below, fully magnex system

£38 to get it done so not too bad. But im going to try and get the other part of the system as when we had it up on the ramps we found that between the cat and the middle box theres not alot other then rust and exhust paste holding it together

How many parts does the proper full magnex system come in? Is it the rear section i have and one other part or is it in a few other peices?

went down to some local garage to get my headgasket tested and he fitted it for me for £25 including new clamps and hangers all round

Welded a sleeve onto the standard exhaust and clamped on the rear section

only thing is, is it hanging a little low or is this how they sit?

yes, they do sit a tad low, shorter rubber mounts will sort that out though
