after a right kok up, we now hav to re apply for planning (that got passed Dec last year!), cus the plans were slightly changed when the guy did the drawing for building regs!!, they were passed in full last monday but Planning Office want to re submit them for planning permission! bummer, the blinking plans have gone slightly smaller too!.. red tape etc etc!!
planning office don't talk to plannng control, hence no one knowing whats going off!
anyway the builders dropping concrete tomorrow, then he'll stop any more work till plans get rubber stamped angain in a few weeks time.. or months! lol
its looking like something now though, yu can see a good layout coming along.
in the mean time the builders sorting ou the floor in the hall way, that had dropped..
hes re dug it all out and will level it to the new builds foor level...... winner!!
you see the stair case has been opened up too, looks so much better.
the chimney breasts have come out and been bricked up. upstairs and down
a support will go in the roof to build the chinmey back up on the outside so it matches the othr side of the house.
also he's removed a few bricks that were blocking light around the ne windows, god only knows why they wre there anyway
at least the new grass at the top of the garden is growing nicely! lol
somethings going right!

not accept a Non material variation rather than new application. would continue on anyway and just put in ammendment once its done.
Thats what would happen here anyway. not sure bout england

we tried the ammaendment but they were having no of it cus the roof lines changed!
builder said he wouldn't carry on as its easier now to alter things than when the roof on! lol
also two months mortgage payments are cheaper than a demolition and re build

Planning just gets more and more difficult these days
I have to be VERY careful about what I submit these days, you have to be pretty damned bloody sure about the way the place is going to be put together to give an accurate representation of what the building will end up looking like.
To add to that, it's even worse when the building regs change and certain aspects of the building get bigger/fatter.
Tough break there though certainly an expensive lesson learned by you and the person that did the plans for you

its a free re submision, the builder started diggin out a month earlier than he first said he would, so really we'll only loose a month from where were would have been

I don't want to sound pessimistic...but as you said, time always=money in these matters.
I hope you get the builders back when you want them
