Right I've got all my main speakers working and the amplifier is powered up but there is no sound at all, the amp is enabled on the head unit etc.
I've wired a 6x9 speaker to the amp instead of the sub and still no sound?
any ideas?

Check the ground, did you wire it up corectly the first time, although it powers up you may have blown somthing inside the amp. give it a quick smell aswell and post in the ICE section

well I un wired the sub & amp then wired it back in.
checked the ground lead, using the same as the rear light.
I've notice the normal speakers seems deprived of bass.
if I play with the EQ they distort with the bass turned up, but I know they can usually handle it.

the normal speakers arent on the same wires as the amp though so they should not be a problem

could be anything mate
rca leads could be snapped inside or not in staereo right
remote lead could be snagged or cut open exposing the metal
power lead could have bad connection
ground lead.....have you scratched the paint under the metal to get a good surface?
if not mate id say you have a sub out putton on your head unit which must be off

I think your main speakers are wired in differently. do they sound wide? on just one of the speakers swop the - and + around and you will see a difference.
Do you have any mates with amps? ask them if you can try your amp in their car. I have a cheapo amp wich wont give sound off and i know i wired it up correctly but i didnt the first time wich makes me think i have blown somthing inside of it even though it powers up.

The amp & sub have been working but I removed them while I waited for the head unit to arrive. they were stored safely!

righty, an update. Ive tidily wired everything up and switched the (+) & (-) on the rears and presto, meaty bass.
As for the sub / amp, the remote cable is wired into the constant feed (yellow wire) still nothing, earth is fine. still wired to when it worked previously.
sub is enabled on the HU, so just gotta test on another unit tbh.
thanx for some clues though guys, thee music drought has ended after 6 weeks!
wooo!
