Use a nova 1.4sr(14nv) distributor and coil etc.
And the carbs setting up for your engine if they haven't been done.

What size engine is it?
Any other mods?
Any reasons why you went for R1 carbs over webers/dellortos?

went for r1s purely for cash-flow reasons (ie. cheap!lol)
c12nz 1.2 8v engine
other mods, none fitted yet but filling my shed i have:
4-2-1 exhaust manifold
de-cat system, which will b getting centre box removed
ported,polished+gas flowed head
V6 brakes
270-280ish cam wanted
lightened flywheel a possibilty also
considering altering final drive in diff.
thats about it at the moment.

all that for a 1.2??? fairplay, not many people consider it worthwhile but i've always wanted to outta curiousity over the performance gains.
just outta interest, how much have you paid for the carbs?

would be really happy to see the sunny side of 100bhp, but i doubt it. 90 wud b good, double factory standard!

i did a similar setup on a nova 1.4, used 1000cc suzuki bike carbs on a 1.3 ported and gasflowed head. didnt get time 2 finish it so sold them. dont forget u mte need to get the bracket to move the alternator (it mte catch the carbs)

how would you go about getting the custom manifold made up and what sort of cost does this incur?

bogg bro's/\ £170
Theres no chance you'd get 100bhp tbh.
I'd be happy with 75-80.
You still have the spi's biggest restriction, the cylinder head. Crap flowing/small ports.

just put a 1.4 bottom end on it, or even a 1.6 gte lump
the carbs are far too big for a 1.2, they use r6 carbs on 1600's!

R1 carbs on a 1600 should see around 130bhp.
