Your help needed please with the ICV on a C20XE
just pulled off the ICV because the car was idling high, i've cleaned it and put it back on now it revs higher.
Now until i get another one can i reduce the diameter (partially block) it off so it drops the revs to 900/1000rpm ?
Reason i ask is because i've just closed it up and the revs idled as normal
Im only assuming this controls the idle, so in theory shouldnt effect the car while on the move ?????
This is only a temporary fix until i get a new ICV, but tick over at 1.5k is startin to drive me mad

Partially blanked it off it is ok when engine is running, driving etc.....
just have to blip the throttle on start up to fire it in.
Temporary problem solved
