hey guys, im using mtech shafts on my xe and noticed this some time ago but havent thought much about it until today.
one of the shafts at wheel end has loads of spare thread after the big castle nut and the wee clip and the other has just about got the nut on it and no clip??
surely this couldnt be correct? anyone know wot could have caused this??

You buy the car like this?
It looks to me
1) the shaft is too short (possibly a nova shaft been used??)
2) the end of the shaft has been faulty so its been cut down to get the nut to screw on.
I wouldnt want to be driving that car if theres no pin going through that castle nut.

no its my car and i used a m tech kit to fit the c20xe.
it hasnt been driven yet. cant see the end of the shaft having been cut down, its the fact that one is sticking out and one looks to be 2 short that gets me..
anyone any other ideas??

It's the CV joint that's poking through. Mine were the same and I just cut the end of the CV joint off to get the castle nut on and the centre cap back on the alloy. I'm not sure if that's actually a good idea, but it seemed to be the thing to do looking at it
