Ever since it was built back up (1000miles ago) it had a slight tap. Just figured it was a sticky follower.

But now since today, it's got REALLY loud, so I checked the oil and its fine

Whats up with it?

did you empty them when you rebuilt the engine?

how many miles have you dont in it since the rebuild/how long has it been in and running?

new follower.if you take them out you will probably be able to tell wich one is dodgy by squezzing it.but try and get a rough idea by using a screw drive and listening where its coming from

My engine was rebuilt not that long ago. Tappets sound terrible too. Going to change them sooner or later, im just lazy lol

Funny thing is they sound worse on the intake cam than the exhaust cam.

Use it to listen to the engine. place it on differnt parts with ear against the handle.
