hello all i am new to this site but i want to fit a 2l 16 v into my corsa it is a 1.5 td but the only thing that i am unsure of is do i need to run a cat to pass the mot i thought any car after 1992 had to have a cat fitted could anyone shed some light onto this as i wanted to fit a non cat red top thanks anthony

if you can prove the engine came from a car prior to august 1992 (supply the V5 from the donor vehicle) then you don't need a cat.
Otherwise you do need one

if from what ive herd that a corsa will pass emisions without a cat but wont pass there there being no cat at all. whats stopping you using an imitation?
