wmv, unless you have vista then you can use transcode 360 and WMC

there is a program but can't remember what its called, my mate uses it so ill call him when he gets home and find out for you. orb or something like that

try downloading torrents that are mp4? There are a fair few out there now, i watched the new die hard and Shooter in HD in mp4 the other day. You can stream them from a PC without any software Or you can burn as a data disk instead.
Its worth it just because you can get HD films to play on your 360 really easy.
