Both me and my mate have Corsa Sports 1.4 16V mine 98 S and his 97 R and another friend has a Corsa 1.4 8v 99 T reg.

All three of us have recently had trouble setting off usually on hills, no matter how much pressure we put on the accelerator the car just doesn't want to move, revs go all the down and eventually will get there after some time. sometimes though it will cut out on mine.

Mine is the worse and try reversing up a hill and it just goes down to 200 revs and cuts out. Even when put into second an sometimes third it judders like it shouldn't be in that gear sometimes on flat ground.

It seems like there isn't enough fuel bein injected. This has started happening only quite recently on all three cars. Is there some kind of valve that needs cleaning? If so where is it located or am I talking about something totally different? I've recently re-done the rocker cover could that affect anything?

Thanks

No we didn't have the same driving instructor lol. Mines worse to be honest.

I'm already in first when I'm on the hill and can't go any lower obviously, just it's really winding me up as I cut out on a hill today and there was big queue of traffic behind me who wern't too pleased. It can be ok minute then just decide to piss about. I need to reverse on a hill becasue I live on one and If i park facing down and someone parks infront with not enough space I need to get out.

Do you think the idle control valve could have anything to do with it?

must be a fucking steep ass hill if you can't get up it!!!

if you're talking about hill starts, then just use more revs and less clutch. if its just running out of steam... sounds like something is wrong.

never had any problems going up hills in my 1.4 or 1.6

Never had any problems in my sport, the biting point in mine sometimes feels a bit weak, but normally when i give it more gas an less clutch it's fine..are you sure you're not just riding the clutch like a crack ho on the hills..

Love it how everyone says clutch control like I've never driven a car before.

It's nothing to do with clutch control, I've never had problems with hills for 2 and a half years I've had my licence it's just the last 2 days it's struggling to get enough power. I put my foot down to the ground and it just judders as if I'm in the wrong gear when I'm in 1st.

Could be a sensor, had any diagnostics tests done. Could be one of the ones that senses the load on the engine
