this is really strange.
I have a wierd problem. Im trying to VPN to our other companies server. I can do it from our local server and it works fine. My work mate can do it from his XP machine fine.
However, if I try from my win2k machine it hangs.
Ive tried a tracert command and i get this:
quote: 1 <10 ms <10 ms <10 ms BRIDGES1 [192.168.1.1]
2 <10 ms <10 ms <10 ms my.router [192.168.0.1]
3 43 ms 45 ms 47 ms lo0-plusnet.ptn-ag2.plus.net [195.166.128.53]
4 40 ms 73 ms 39 ms ge1-0-0-204.ptn-gw2.plus.net [xx.xx.x.xxx]
5 46 ms 42 ms 45 ms vl22.thn-gw1.plus.net [xxx.xxx.x.x]
6 171 ms * 40 ms 195.66.226.185
7 42 ms 38 ms 45 ms v3490.mpd01.lon02.atlas.cogentco.com [130.117.2.
18]
8 49 ms 40 ms 39 ms 130.117.19.6
9 40 ms 40 ms 46 ms ge0-1-cr4.th.izr.com [195.26.38.9]
Its appears to be getting to their ISP and stops. But im puzzeled as to why my friend can do it and I cannot. We're both using the same internet connection, the same username/password.
He also get the same time out at number 10.
Any ideas?

Maybe your router can only handle one VPN session?

are ports 4279 an 5279 open at each end of the vpn? and has it been allowed in the firewall of both machines and routers?
