my new dvd player supports divx... so i wanna give it a go. do i just burn the video as an mpg on to a cd (or dvd?) or does it need converting to an actual "divx format"

can u not just 'acquire' nero and use its NeroVision feature? converts it and burns it to fill the disc for you

KZ - Yes, just burn the .avi/mpg direct onto a CD and shove it in you dvd player and it should play.
I tend to be able to fit 4 or 5 divx movies on one dvd

thanks brett, givin it a go now. would you say that theres much difference in quality between converting to a dvd and burning, or just watching the mpg?

damn, turns out it was an MP4 file i was trying to burn. DivX just said no! lol. and the DVD rip just jolts badly
