That sort of stuff would be an absolute piece of piss for a decent Joiner if you know any?

tbh it can be if he wants it to be. He can get most of the work done by a woodyard and then just put it together...but its when you go more over-elaborate with the design that you get into a bit more trouble

Yeah my mate's Brother is a joiner mad moe - I was thinking that, but it'd be more fun (I think) doing it myself. I'll see what he says anyway, be good to use the original veneer, won't look 'brand new' then.

im a chippy do finishing stuff ie doors etc. a word of advice plan it all out before you buy any timber or cut any as to how you can get the best use of what you have to work with. sharp tools are a must, and a router is a good piece of kit to buy if you think u will use it again.

Another chippy here. Just made myself a double bed and it took alot of work and thought.
First of all, what tools do you have to use?
Is Rosewood something you definatly want to use because you could get a much much nicer piece from a solid hardwood, amarican black walnut, oak etc?
If you do go the route Cosmo suggests, using sheet material (ply) how will you join it all with it looking good?
I know your into high end furnature nik and i dont want to put you off but i dont think you could create something like that unless you have a decent workshop and experience.

Oh check out this uk woodwork forum.
This thread below follows the construction of this American Black Walnut unit, which i kind of thought was a little what you described.

Its a pretty good forum, but mainly focussed on Joinery/Cabinet making rather than site/structural carpentry.

I've emailed lots of bespoke places actually see what they come back with! If it isn't too bad on the wallet, i.e £600 odd I'll go for it and see how it turns out because if it looks good I'm thinking of doing a small run of 4 or 5 and selling them on my site!
Cheers for all the advice so far, really would like to make my own though
