new windows and heating are the priorities
then kitchen and bathroom
the rest is just really cosmetic which can be done over time.

the bathroom looks straight from the 1920's or something
Love the two stained glass windows, original hall tiles and brass threshold plate.
The skirting boards in the living room, or summer living room , are about 15" high....
The paper in the living room looks about 100years old.... but prob from the 40's i think.
The place really is a time warp. Nothing has really been spoiled at all. Not crap DIY 'home improvement' type shit has gone on. Its ace
It was also re-wired at somepoint which is a bonus
All of the furniture is going apart from maybe a large wardrobe. The movers came in after we left on Monday.
Outhouse1 - turned into a gym in time
Outhouse2 - utility room/wash house
outhouse3 - Extend the kitchen into it, use the remaining half for storage

I think around a year and a half to get everything how we want it.
We're planning on doing the windows, heating, kitchen and bathroom straight away
then the carpets can be pulled up and the old floorboards sanded and varnished.
Paint
Build a garage.
It's going to be about another year before the garage gets built, so that's what will probably take the longest.

if you look at this pic here....
on the left is the garage belonging to upstairs....the area at the bottom on the right belongs to us....we figure there is almost enough space for a full double garage...more likely to be just under that size but Adam reckons two cars will fit in

the majority of other houses/flats in the street have a garage so I see no reason why not.

Priced up our kitchen last night....
trying to decide what to go for on the walls and floor
We're getting gloss white cabinets with an oak worktop.
We wanted black and white tiled floor, but think the kitchen might be too small, so we might do that in the bathroom instead.
Brushed aliminium splashback....possibly oak laminate floors....
what colour for the walls though :S

Advertised as "needs modernisation?"
Nice, lots of scope for improvement. Some nice wooden flooring, nice new kitchen, that will be a nice place.
Remineds me of my nans house in the 80's though at the moment

Once we pull up the carpets we can just sand and varnish the floorboards.
Its so....retro

I've just noticed the bath picture
Still, guess thats an excuss (if money available) to buy a nice sized brand new bath. Tell adam you want one of those water jet bubble bath things

I just want to move in and get started now!
Luckily only one of the fireplaces needs to be completely replaced, and we already have a replacement for it.
I think we're putting in a big shower rather than a bath
