When giving the car some hockey theres a strong smell of fuel it's also using a fair amount even when driving normal.
Any ideas?

what engine you running mate.

what age?

what mods you got on the car/ engine.

exhaust, cams etc??

Sorry lads stupid me forgot to say.
x16xe totally standard even the exhaust is standard the engine is frm an s reg with low milage (50,000). But just put the engine into my shell (was an 1.4 8v) so could it be anything to do with that?

i get a lot of customers complain of fuel smell on vauxhalls..
usually the tank vent pipes to the charcoal/carbon filter.

Charcoal Canister takes away the smell of petrol usually. Could have a broken pipe heading to there.

Have a check around the washer bottle, there is a pipe which kept coming out on my 1.6 which goes to the charcoal canister. And was making it smell of petrol.

Yeah but there is a pipe that runs from the engine to it, this one IIRC

There was an l-piece bit of rubber that it kept slipping out of. Could be worth a check.
