can someone explain what the differences are on 40gb and 60gb ps3's as ive heard so many stories that i bought the 60 anyway.

40gig can't play PS2 games i dont think (not thatyou'd want to)
Thats all i know, except the obvious 20gig difference

60gb is shiny with chrome bits
40gb is like a matte black

i heard yesterday that you can play ps2 games on 40??? also do you have the memory card ports etc on the 40gb ones?

2 less USB ports, no memory card slots on the front iirc.

I've been told this is not true, that the 40gb is gloss black too? As far as I know the only differences are:
No backwards compatability for PS2 games,
No memory card slots,
Only 2 USB ports on the front,
Only 40GB hard drive.
To be honest I wouldn't miss any of that stuff off my 60gb, I never use any of it. And the hard disc is easy to upgrade on all the PS3's later on anyway.

shiney black but the chrome strip on the 60GB is matt silver-y on the 40GB

I *think* the 60GB includes some extra software on board to process the older games, so they save money by not including it.

they are bringing an 80gb out to replace the 60gb i belive

Hard drive is dead easy to upgrade anyway, so no point in waiting TBH.
