Help me!
I have a PC running Vista, and an external hard drive (which is the one i was previously using)
The promlem i have is when i try to look at/move/copy any files, it says i dont have permission?
even on my dads user (he is administrator) it does the same
The only way so far i have been able to move one single file ( no sub folders/files) is to go on the security tab in properties, then add my user name, then go to advanced, add my user name, then open it again, then add my user name, then allow full control, then apply
Using this method i predict it would take around 8 days + to move/copy all my files?
Any way i can turn off the file protection or something?

You need to take control over the entire drive and apply it to all subfolders and files.
In My Computer, Right click the affected drive, go to properties.
Click the security tab, then advanced button.
Then click the "Owner" tab, then click edit
Click pass the UAC prompt, click your username, and make sure you tick the box that says replace owner on subcontainers and objects.
