Just been looking at these in Tesco's, and they seem to be a decent deal.

£79.99 for a freeview box that has all the capabilities as Sky+ (but with less channels obviously) Does the "on-demand" recordings overnight like Sky does.

Only thing that is confusing me is, on the box it says no subscription needed, but on a couple of the reviews it goes on about paying £9.99 p/m, and I cant work out wether that is just for the "on-demand" stuff, or for everything.

Does anybody have one? Or work somewhere that sells them and confirm what the £9.99 is for each month, and if you have to pay it, or can it be used just a a free view box with the capabilities to record onto the hard drive, pause live TV etc etc.

Any help/info appreciated.

I think it means you are not being tied down by a 12 month contract and still have to pay £9.99 a month but can cancel at anytime.

I was gonna get one of the setanta sports boxes for christmas and thought giving 15 days was a bit of a con for free

Bought one anyways. The £9.99 thing is for the extra channels.

Its not bad actually, not as good as Sky+ plus it will do for my bedroom

I bought this the other day:

Same thing as what you bought. That one was recommended by AV forums so I went for it.

Only had it 4 days but i've already used it loads. I love it.
