i need a serial 9pin to connect to my laptop the usb connvertor doesnt work but would this work??...

That should be fine although pricey.

I have a brand new Belkin USB to single Serial adapter with driver cd if you want it for £5 + £2 P+P?

Can post up pics tomorrow if you wish?

like said, thats pretty pricey and im sure you could get a pcmcia RS232 card a lot cheaper.

What are you trying to connect? Do you have your own driver cd for the device?

You sure it's not the cable?, not a cheap ECU cable from ebay?. Some of them are shit. Don't suppose you have a m8 or know anyone with a laptop, with a serial onboard to test?.

no its brand new from omex themselves, it wont connect through usb has to be serial ill have to ask about see if i can try on someone elses but should do lol goes on dave a's ok

yeah, i've never been sure about USB to serial converters, i've had a few problems in the past.
I would stick with a pcmcia card but google around as you'll beable to get one a lot cheaper that £50

I've had plenty of things delivered from HK. Not had a problem yet but imagine it's a pain to sort sending back etc...

The first ebay link I think is from someone in the UK and only a little dearer.
