atm my softstars have 195 45 16's on them and i get a bit of scrubbing and tbh i still want to lower it a little more
i can get 165 40 16's would these be ok with the stretch ? i dont want to be traveling down the road thinking omg my tyre might pop off

my soft stars catch like mad at the front at the moment i am on 195 45 16 too......
i dont think strecthing the tyres over like a earo look is a good idea??? but each to there own i suppose??
is yours a low as mine?? (corsa v6 in blue)

ime down around 89-90mm at the front and it rubs quite a biot sometimes
its not really for the euro look its just it will pull the tyre 'in' more and hopefully that would give me needed clearence

in your pics mine looks lower, it covers the tops of the tyres
not an sxi, its a poverty spec 1.0 woopwooop
