I am going to be purchasing a lot of new gear amounting upto about 2500w RMS. Im guessing im going to have to get a new alternator/battery/more than one battery. Wondering if anyone could give me any advice as i have limited knowledge in this area.
The car is a 1996 Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 16v Sport by the way

iv got 1500rms worth at the moment, iv got a massive battery and 0awg cable with that power you might want two runs. alternator would be good aswell for that sort of power

where did you get the big battery and was it expensive? any ideas where i can get a bigger alternator? thanks

Probably best to ask on talk audio, Thats a real big setup your looking for so expect to kiss goodbye to £1.5k+ to do it properly.
But if thats what your after then go for it, I had 1600WRMS in my corsa for a few years before I put it on a diet for the LET
Ive got a RE XXX 12" sub if your after a sub, rated at 1600W RMS if i remember correctly

As for the alternator you can fit a 120A one from some bigger vauxhalls but I cant remember what model. Any alternator from the vaux car range will fit as long as its about the same year as your car, Think mine was a 100A from an astra estate diesel

thanks for the info, guess ill be off down to the scrappers this week then.
im looking to buy 2 12" Alpine type X subs with 1000WRMS mono apline amps and 4 channel alpine amp to power the 4 alpine components. Any advice on this system? links below
