have just got another gsi and the brake pedal goes to the floor when pushed, have checked the shoes and discs/pads they are fine would it be that they need bleeding?

I can push mine too the floor when braking hard .
And I have new shoes and pads, no leaks from calipers, brake cyclinders or master cyclinder. Brakes have been bleed multiple times . . . And still does it.

the brakes are crap, drove the car up the road and didnt feel like the car was goin to stop when i braked

Air in the system or dodgy master cylinder.
Bleed it through with fresh fluid and see how ya go.

They probably need bleeding but if that fails then the rear shoes might not be adjusted properly and taking a lot of fluid to move the shoes further to the brake drum than normal

are the hoses in good nick?
as they could be expanding when braking etc etc
