I need an acess point.
Im not quite sure what it is, but i know i need that to go wireless in my house.
Where do i get one and how much do they cost?

might be easier getting a wireless router for your broadband (either a plain vanilla router if you have Cable (virgin etc) or an ADSL router if you have ADSL etc) connection

i have a LAN in my house and been told i dont need a router as i have one just need an acces point

Wireless routers are like £25. I wouldn't even dick about for that price.

Access Points are around a tenner for a cheap one. Can be used to increase the signal when the router is too far away.

It's like a router, but without certain functions. You can buy them from PC World etc.
You could even buy a cheap router and turn off some functions and it'll behave exactly the same.
I had one kicking about here somewhere, but I'm not sure what's happened to it.

I agree you can get an router and turn the functions off, but it is better to have a dedicated access point.
I could sort for you for about £40-5 I recon Jambo Belkin Access Point, all tested and working
