plastic in drivers foot well(on the rhs),a small square black plug disconnects the engine loom from the car, are you wanting to remove the engine loom ecu from the car with the engine?

thats it... the plug side (i think lol) goes back to the loom which connects to the ecu (ecu has two big plugs on it-one red/one white on mine) unplug the ecu-and the two relays above it (one is brown, one is purple) by sliding a flat blade screwdriver directly up the middle back of them. now go to the very top left hand corner of your engine bay (next to your brake fluid bottle) theres a black box roughly 2 inces by 6 inches in size and ittl be clipped down to the car-unclip this and you'll see the grommet that goes through the bulkhead above your ecu...
with the box to the side (it contans the big fuse) pull the wiring loom about an inch upwards whilst grippin the grommit with your thumb/finger-this will release the grommit....
go back inside the car and with a freind above the grommet (much easier with two people imo) rotate the relays with what slack you have and feed them thru-i found they go thru easier the shorter wired one first span round upright and then the second in the same way, as your feeding get your mate to pull them out 'gently' to help cos' it can be fiddley, then next turn the ecu plugs sideways and theyll go through...done,its out-sit it in top of the engine
now if your removing the engine i would recommend on the battery clamps seperating the two small blacks/browns from the main clamp.
then to the back of the engine below the starter about mid bulkhead there a small grey/black multi plug (for starter switch, alternator light etc..) disconnect that.
dont forget to unplug the two pin plug off the front of the gearbox for the revese switch light while your there.
hope that helps bud?
