I've never had the need to use the Windows Encryption, but should be sufficient for your needs.

Burn them to a CD/DVD and hide it. Then put it in every time you want to rub one out.

You can zip it then unzip and delete it after, but it'll keep the zip file.

i used a program (i'll try and hunt around for it once i remember the name) that i thought was the bee's knees, as you could lock/unlock (using a password) a directory/folder which would hide it from My Computer or command prompt. But uninstalling the program (closing it seemed to keep everything hidden) would cause the folder to reappear again or booting up using another OS would allow you to browse to that directory/folder - so it wasn't that secure, but might be ok for what you need.
like i say i'll have a hunt and see if i can remember it
might be worth a read - http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,110663-page,1/article.html
have a look at - http://www.truecrypt.org/ and http://www.newsoftwares.net/folderlock/

Just move it into a directory that no-one will use + disguise it.
IE: C:\Programs Files\xerox\Drivers\data (etc)
And paste it there. Job done simple.
