Right, i had an MOT about a month a go on my corsa 1.6 sport and it went through with no problems other than emissions.

I take my car to a place today as i had changed my cts and cat. Went to a place near me as i needed an MOT quick.

and got this list of failures?

List -

Nearside Windscreen Wiper - the rubber is hanging off both wipers when i took it there it wasnt?
Offside Windscreen Wiper

Nearside front mcpherson strut has excessive movement in upper support breaking assembly

Thick blue smoke - emissions not tested

Offside rear brake binding

Nearside and offside rear parking brake little or no effort

parking brake efficiency below requirements



how can i fix these problems? any of them serious?

and why is there such a difference in results? i am going to take it back upto the test centre that only failed it on emissions as the car has not been on the road or moved since they tested it last.

Thick blue smoke means it is burning oil. Other than that, all of them are a easy fix

thats good to hear would it be expensive to fix all the problems above, and what parts do i need?

WTF is binding?

Get your drums off both sides and look it the shoes need replacing.
