did an x16xe engine conversion about a month ago and its doing about 35 mpg, is this about right?
I only drive around town so no long runs out but I think its good as the 1.2 8 valve was only averaging about 38 mpg.
does it sound about right?

1.2 8v's are notoriously bad.
I get on average 47mpg in the 12v, so 35mpg in an X16XE is pretty good.

Well how much in litres is that?
I used to be able to get 46 litres in my B, but some people think a full tank is 35?

I don't want to give it any stick yet as i've fully rebuilt it with new bearings and piston rings so just running it in at the mo

Funny you should mention that as my car hardly warms up even on long journeys. In my 1.2 8v it used to sit about vertical on the gauge but in my 1.4 it struggles to touch 90.
Is that normal?
