right basicaly sat in traffic today temp gauge started goin up. got home checked for blockages on radiator pipes couldnt find none. checked the fan switch that worked fine and kicked in just after 100 on the gauge. oil level seems ok. water in the header tank looks a bit misty. so just wanna know if this could be causing the problem or could it be somthing more major. any help would be great. cheers.

With misty looking coolant I beleive this could be the head gasket.
Check the oil cap and around the inside of the head where the oil goes and see if its discoloured.
Also does the coolant level keep dropping ?

It you had been stationary for a fair bit in traffic allowing the engine to tick over they will tend to get warm and cause the gauge to go up as their not getting the cold air when your driving compared to stationary.

To be honest it doesnt sound like its overheated to me, how hot did it get exactly? Its normal for the temperature to go up when your in traffic, thats what the fan is for

if it starts going over 100 then turn your fans on, because that is a bit hot.

90 is where it should run at while your driving really, fan should kick in about 98 degrees. nothing wrong unless you get to temperatures of 110+ but if your fan comes on it will never get that high.
The corsa temp gauge makes things look worse than they are because theres only 10 degrees between the bottom and top marks
