I changed my fuel filter today on the Ibiza, unclip and clip back in cylinder job in the bottom left of the engine bay. It started fine but then died. So I cracked it over a few times and it went again, gone for a little drive and all seems fine.

Now someones telling me I should have flushed something through to get any water out?

Is there anything else I should have done or is it OK?

I think the other one had a water trap on the bottom of it. This one has nothing on it.

Might have started fine because there was diesel left in the system after the filter. But because your new flter was probably empty there woulda been no diesel for the car to run on so it cut out. then was fine when the diesel had filled the filter after cranking it a few times etc

Next time you change it, just top the filter up with diesel afterwards.
