Best way to remove the bolts then and more importantly how to tighten them back up

At the top of the strut there is a bit where you can put a small spanner on. hold it with that and undo the bolt. When putting it on my strut didnt turn so I didnt have a problem but if it does you have to get a swan neck spanner to go inside and hold the top with the smaller spanner.

When you put it on the top of the strut sits in the brace yea? Use a swan neck spanner to go inside. Hold the top with a spanner or ratchet maybe? then you can tighten.

well try it, it may not turn anyway. another way is to hold it from under the car with mole grips and then tighten the nut up the top

Or just use an impact gun, it'll tighten then nut up without moving the piston as it spins the nut too quickly.

That's what I did, worked perfectly - the strut brace was literally fitted in about 4 minutes.

That's what I had to do when I was fitting my rear shocks, they wouldn't budge without it
