Bottom one looks like the starter loom connector, It has wires for the oil light, alternator light and starter motor trigger

top = speed sender loom
middle = fuel pump wires
bottom = starting/charging/oil pressure loom

Cheers lads. We were thinking along these lines but didnt recognise the plugs. Do I need to touch any of these for an XE?
