when spraying wot kind of tape do you use to mask edges off like if i wanted to spray my mirrors and keep the band around the edge black then wot tape should i use as ive tried using masking tape and the paint soaks into it and leaves a rough edge????
also how do spray shops spray a colour edge of rim on alloys like if i wanted black alloys with arden blue around the edge???

You Need to use masking tape fella
I think you would need to rub the rough edge down once its lacquered with a very fine wet sandpaper (somthing like P2000 or P3000)

i dow mean a rough edge like bumpy or anything.to make it easier say if i was spraying a sheet of metal two different colours and i wanted one half black and the other half white. wot do spray shops use to get a perfectly straight edge between the two colours. masking tape soaks the paint in and when i have lifted the tape the paint has bled under the tape leaving a non straight edge.

Double up on the masking tape?
Try another brand of masking tape?
