Will I need any extra cables or connectors?
Will that monitor work with the TV as a dual monitor set up or will I need a DVI monitor?
I just realized that I will need to get a DVI to VGA adaptor, so I will add that to the shopping list now.
Anything to worry about with the set up? any problems?

Your HDD is OEM so it wont come with a SATA cable of screws to mount it.

The motherboard should have cables with it. Mine did, at least 6 I think.
The case should also come with all the screws needed.

I was gunna say when I built my PC I'm sure my SATA hard drive was OEM and I didn't need to buy any cables/screws.
I was really looking forward to spending the time putting it together, I was well annoyed when I had finished it within about an hour and a half, thought it would take a whole day!

I have never built a computer before so I am expecting it to take a few hours.
There seems to be alot of fuss about anti-static bracelets...... Do I really need to use one? I assume aslong as I am not touch anything directly it should be ok

Na not a big deal really about the static bands.
Just dont build the machine on your bedroom floor (carpet)
Just destatic yourself 1st by touching your computers power supply.

It will work but I wouldn't buy a monitor that isn't at least dvi, do graphics cards even come with vga ports anymore?

Well I went to order it and that was that.
just had an e-mail saying that the graphics card has been discontinued.
WHY THE FCUK have it listed as in stock on the site then!!
Now means that I wont be getting my computer till Wednesday as opposed to Tuesday.
In the mean time i have to find a replacement graphics card. Would this item be on a par with the 3650 ATI item?
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/126985
Its main duties will be media playback and light gaming. But moremedia playback including high def. Or should I get this item from overclockers and take another hit on postage costs: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-162-AS
Very pissed off at the fact that the site said they were in stock and they let the order go through without a problem. Im going to give them a bollocking on the phone tomorrow as I wanted the computer on tomorrow not later than that!

the 8600gt isnt a bad card, The real question is. Do you play games? if so then the nvidia card will be better as most games play best with nvidia cards.
Also ATi are pretty much one generation behind in graphics cards at the moment.

im not a big fan of ebuyer. They have good prices but i have been fooked over with stuff from them.
Once ordered a monitor from them, came smashed.
I once ordered a dvd rw which was faulty, (tested it several machines) sent it back and they said they never reiceved it.
My housemate bought a gfx card from them, it broke 8 months down the line and they said they would refund him the current value of the card and wouldnt swap it for an alternative
