could do with a dynamic background for some remote laptops. We have VPN software that creates a Private network on the machine. What i want is when the VPN is activated and logged in it shows the IP address it has given its self to show on the desktop.

Any body have any ideas?

If you have a webserver running on the network then just set each machine as active desktop so they display a webpage setup a page on the webserver that throws an IP command. Should tell you the local pc IP then.

Oh an i should say you can put any info you like on it, so just ip, or the user thats logged in, you can change the font and the position...its ace
