I'll make a rash statement here. I could be wrong...
Judging by my friends they are just an exercise in marketing. You could probably buy a laptop of the same spec for less money else where.

My sister has the highest spec one they did at the time at £2,000 but whether its worth it or not I cannot say. It wasn't worth her getting it coz all she does on it is surf the net but if your planning to play games on it, it has great spec but yes, ya probably could get one same spec for less money.

Laptops, imho, shouldn't be used for gaming anyway, it just doesn't seem right.
But I would imagine the XPS thing is bit of a marketing ploy, just like anything Dell you buy really.
I'd build one to your spec, then look around.

I'd build it myself, be cheaper although I prefer desktops to laptops.

would like some thing that i could use around and out side the house tbh,
only games ill be playing will be CSS and bioshock. just didnt think many laptops would be able to cope with it.

Dell laptops are in general good, don't know how the normal ones are a marketing ploy though
