Couldnt agree more,
was round my mates last night playing COD4 on his 60GB PS3 and on a 40" 1080p tv and it was absolutely superb, after much more magners we decided to get tony hawks skateboarding out (PS2), think it was number 4 or somethign, the graphics were absolute dogshit, and you have to fuck about formatting the disc etc.. total shite

I had a 80gb ps3 since december and its backwards compatibale, runs very quiet 
They said they would do this ages ago.
Seems a pi**take on people who just went and got the 40gb ones.

I still play PSX games on mine, PS2 games get a look in too, MGS2 & 3, Resident Evil 4, Gran Turismo 4, loads of classic games... The 60Gb one has card readers as well. Quite handy for the digi cam.

Dont see the big problem, there are a fair few laptops harddrives compatable with the ps3 meaning you can do a direct replacement and make your ps3 whatever gb you want it to be
