In the last month or so I have approached two different people about selling domains they owned.
Neither currently had a site set up on them, and from what I could find out they hadnt had one on it for years (upwards of 4yrs on one, 2yrs on the other). Neither had good rankings on any search engines even when searching using words in the domain name. Neither had ANY incoming links to them. Neither had good (or any!) traffic. And neither had names that would really be of any use to anything other than a very small group of people.
So what did the people want for the domains.....£3000 for the one not used for 4yrs, and £900 for the one not used for 2yrs.

Send them an email offering them £50 then don't reply to anything regarding it again until they offer it to you.

Exactly what I did
Have told them everything I posted above and said I'd offer them £100 (I'd be willing to pay that as I do want the domains but they arent crucial). Only one has come back saying they wont negotiate and will develop it themselves - so replied just asking why they hadnt in the last 2yrs and doubting they'd get a better offer in the next two.

Remind them it's 2008 and not 1998. That ought to tell 'em

Exactly. Im fairly sure they wont of had any other offers since they have owned them, and doubt they'll ever get another for a while.
