ive fitted my rear arb,but i'm not sure how far apart the hangers should be.mine are quite a bit further away than the ones in this pic is that ok?

when i fit arb and such to the rear of golfs, i tend to put the brackets approx 3inch outover from that pic

the arb twists to take the roll out of the body, and having the brackets in the centre too far will just cause problems, eg. torsion of tha arb couldsnap them

mine are further apart right by where the bend starts in the bar

i only put mine there cause the handbrake cable is in the way so wouldnt go any further over

I measured mine, then divided by 3. Then measured that number from the outside in on both sides.

Just 1 question, ive heard people saying take the from arb off. What will this do ?

Received my rear arb 22mm today I am going to fit tomorrow I notice there are 6 yellow bushes the round ones I thought 4 would do the job are they spares or do you have to double them up any close up pics of the mounting position would be helpful , also have a power box to fit so should keep me busy , any tips on fitting the p/box would be good to . thanks.

My p/box was a pain in the arse. Good luck.

Just make sure you put everything you take off in a safe place.

Cheers Richard not what I wanted to here but thanks for the reply, now I,m worried still have to give it a go, I will label everything and have a mate to help its the wifes car and she is scared I will foc it up I,m more a bike man myself.

Its more common sense, just take your time and you should be ok. You might have to get a new trottle body gasket from vauxhall, cost 68p

i fitted one with bethoml,
just be sure you avoid any air leaks on it...and as mentioned above keep your parts organised

The only problem ive got is, im still not sure if ive got all the vac pipes in the right places. The car just doesnt feel right

Ok have fitted power box had a few problems but got round them ,getting the black plastic pipe out from below the inlet is a sod ,extended the cables to throttle ok and connected all hoses and breathers back up ok, also while I was at it drilled the air box , then today fitted arb very easy , have taken pics butnot sure how to download them, going out for a blast now to see how the motor feels, job done.

Yes that black pipe at the back is a pain the the ass. It should feel loads better now. Could you post a pic of where you connected all the vacum pipes to. Thats what im struggeling with

I do not know how to post pics on here but if you pm me I will try and send you some. back from the pub lol and she goes bloody great more grunt /response sounds better goes better handles great much more planted at the rear very pleased with the outcome, I have lowered /uprated suspension and fitted wheels ,exhaust, etc so she is now about done.
