ive connected my laptop to my tv with a hdmi lead but on the tv the picture doesnt fill the screen its surrounded by a black border. anyone have any idea how to get it to use the full screen?

you'll need to either change the resolution on the laptop or play with the settings on the TV (zoom, widescreen etc)
I connected a PC to my LCD and it was as simple as plug in and it was sorted

tried changing the setting on the tv and couldnt, im assuming i would have to change the settings in the desktop properties, but not sure what to?

right click on your desktop somewhere, then go to properties. on the right at the top you'll get a "settings" tab, click that. you should have 2 screens in the box in the middle, click on screen 2 and have a play with the settings by moving the scroll bar under "screen resolution"

i have managed to get it a bit better, now the tv is set to 720i i think and changed the resolution but the picture is a bit too big now, if its on 1080i setting then i just cant get it to fit, bloody nightmare

on my graphics card on my laptop i can adjust the screen to fit the tele screen without chnaging the resolution, thats a Nvidia card and its in the graphic card settings
