Hi all,

My mates got a 1.7 CDTI Sri and he's wondering what can be done "Performance" wise.

He's already considering a Diesel tuning box etc but he's wondering if things like cams and pullies etc apply to diesel engines as we're both clueless on diesels

And it's a Corsa C

Well he's considering one of those that's very similar DT-UK i think it is.

But diesel engines are very different. I've never heard or seen cams available for diesel engines but there maybe parts that can help tune them etc

is this a turbo diesel? if so the boost could be turned up a bit, also a front mount intercooler, and you can get chips that up the power

Yea it's the CDTI so uprating the inter-cooler is potential aswell then?

Is it easy to turn the boost up or has mapping etc need to be involved?

was talking to a master tech at my garage today about weather you could de cat a derv.. He said the cat / particulate filter is just like a breas block and taking it out will give you a nice gain with a tuning box and a bigger intercooler and upped boost you could be laughing.. Umm i think they are veriable vain turbo's on the newer derv's? If they are then the boost pressure is controlled by the ecu and it will need a re map to get it up... Not 100% tho so could stand to be corrected.

So a de-cat/sports cat, bigger intercooler and a DT-UK (or similar) would do potentially decent gains!?

That sounds pretty reasonable!

Anyone know anyone who's done a tuning thing on these engines with decent gains?

Also what about things like throttle bodies etc? Is this applicable or not really needed as theres a turbo?

Its a diesel so you dont have a sports cat. Just rid the particle filter as said above. Throttle boddies on a diesel NO
Front mount
On a CDTI the only way up the boost is a remap as said above. Its the old mechanical type pumps that get the spanner treatment
