Engine mount off will make life alot easier, not sure if you can even do it with it on.

Basically take all hose's/pipes off and take all the torx bolts out.

Not being funny but do you actually know what you're doing? It might be easier just to let a garage do it.

Fair enough. Yeah I'd put an axle stand under it or a piece of wood or something to support it. Whip the engine mount off and its fairly self explanitory.

Yeah basically, unbolt it, clean the side of the block up a bit, fit rubber gasket and bolt the new one on.

I would just get the right one for your car, there is a few different types. Pipes etc are attached differently.

saving £10-20 on a waterpump is hardly worth fucking your engine!

omg never heard so much duff info in one thread.

Yes that top pulley is for the water pump. As you found out it comes off by the three bolts. I assume at this point you realise you don't need to replace the pulley!

Replacing the water pump is easy enough your best bet is to get the new one then you know exactly what you are looking at removing. The holes in the new one will point you in the right direction aqs to which bolts to remove etc.

Pattern water pumps are just fine but I wouldnt get one from ebay. Get one from a local factors that way you have comeback on them if you do have a problem.

I would recommend replacing the belt at the same time, and to do that you have to drop the engine mounting but hey its not difficult.

As for tensioing the belt i'm fairly sure its an automatic tensioner and you do not have to slacken the alternator at all!

Yeah there is a tensioner at the bottom, you will need a fairly big pair of grips to squeeze the spring though as it is quite tough.
