it is a torx bolt, to remove it i..........erm, no i couldnt remove i, tried jamming the crank up and everything! lol, probably caused damage doing it

yeh i have been trying to jam a screw driver in the the teeth of the flywheel... it usually works.... not on this one though...

i took the sump off and jammed a breaker bar in the crank and the block, then i got a bigger breaker bar and jumped on it etc.... nothing happened

you dont need to take the big one off to remove crank pulley mate just the six little ones
if you need to remove it for other reasons. take the plate off the bottom of the gearbox and wedge a crowbar between the flywheel and side of the box. then get a breaker bar on the crank nut

changing the water pump etc... and as far i can see the rear timing belt cover has to come off to do this...

the way i know of doing it is this
get a long 1/2 inch drive breaker bar and new strong "not cheapo stuff" torx socket fit it in a way so when the engine is cranked over it undoes
then fit bar and socket and jam bar against the floor
heat up the nut with a blow torch
crank engine over

the rear cover does have to come off but it will slid eover the bottom pulley when the 6 bolts are removed from the pulley

well the update is its still in there... i've come to the conclusion that this is a job for a drill...

think i may make a little plate up like it says in the haynes.... the c16xe hanyes that is.... still havent got around to buying a 2.0 manual yet

i tried that... it kills the plate... huuuge bar of metal with holes drilled in bolted to the crank in place of the flywheel does the trick . need about 4 people to keep the engine steady like

yeah i have been walking around work for the past few days trying to find a suitable peace of metal why the feck didnt i remember to tell the guy to take the bolt out before removing the engine
found it quite amazing last night that once you take the inlet manifold off(took 3 fooking days ) there is only 1 or 2 wires that acutally fo to the engine... why does fuel inject need so many bloody wires...

true... theres so many things i like about it already and its still only sitting on the floor...
clutch inspection cover will make it alot simpler to change clutchs unlike my c16xe
i was also quite surprised how light it was... 2 of us were able to lift it out of a van no probs....
