Yup I get you fella.
You need one of these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3pc-exhaust-pipe-expander-fits-most-cars-vans_W0QQitemZ280298358272QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Hand_Tools_Equipment?hash=item280298358272&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A17|39%3A1|240%3A1318
Alternatively heat up the end of the backbox and gently open up the ends using a long screwdriver or grips.

What size bore is it?
I have a piece of scaffolding pole that is slightly under 2" so fit's inside perfect.
What i've done in the past is vice up the pipe, Heated it right up then inserted my bar and ran it around inside the exhaust where it needed expanding.

Just find a pipe slightly smaller and heat the backbox up with a blowtorch where the pipe is bent in then do as I said earlier.
If you get it hot enough the pipe will come out quite easy.

If you mean like a paint stripper it may take a while. I use butane blowtorches. Can get one from Halfords or B&Q for £15 if you struggle with the heat gun.
