when im pulling off in first my cars juddering loads, its taking ages to pull off and when i do it judders and makes a high pitch screeching noise.
but when i pull off in 2nd its fine, just takes a bit longer =/
anyone had this happen to them before or anyone know what it could be?

Yea id say its clutch related, the squeeling will be your thrust bearing
Is it going into gear ok? And can you smell the clutch burning?

yeah its going into gear fine and theres no clutch burning
seems to be fine today :S

it is whats called clutch judder the clutch pressure plate could be warped or the flywheel. new clucth and maybe flywheel for you

do you have an oil leak ???..possibly the rocker cover gasket away and seeping down the side of the engine and the box....just a thought..............

more likely to be the release bearing is worn leaking grease.

my first car had a worn clutch, and from experience there was no scretching from it, just high revs, replaced it and then the gearbox leaked onto new clutch....bang there goes another clutch. Away from the technical side....when i bought my corsa it had a piper cross filter, pulling from roundabouts it would take ages to get to speed and judder sometimes, when i put the original box back on it, i strugled to keep my head upright. Try it if you have the box spare...if you have a different filter
