Sounds like you installed a virus and not a 'optimisation program' as it were.
May be best doing a fresh install of your OS?

Bang the CD in and then start the computer up. Make sure that it is set to boot up to the CD before the hard drive (you do this in the BIOS)

Erm... you know that you'll lose anything you have saved on there right? i.e Music, Videos, Documents (all your files). Just want to make sure you realise that before you go ahead and do anything too rash.

Theres lotsa programs out there that say they sort out PC probs, net probs but most are just spyware, adware, virus' etc. You should never d/load such a program without finding out more about it first.
I almost made that mistake a few months back but luckly while installing it, my virus software told me there was a virus in the installation file so I just deleted it and got away scot free.

gooner no choice mate, Doug I went to my BIOS then advanced bios features, set CD ROM as first boot device and hard disk as second. Is this right? If so, No luck

Yeah that sounds right mate
Now when you start the computer up it will check the CD rom drive before the Hard drive.
So if you start your computer with your windows CD in the drive then you should be able to run the setup on the computer
