have you taken the linkage off the box itself then tried changing gear on the box to make sure its getting all gears? possible the linkage itself is knackered somehow and not selecting gears properly.
does it feel like its getting all the gears?

sounds like a possable earthing problem,
best bet is to go over the box again make sure you havent trapped any wires and to make sure that everything is tight..

ok but it started on friday night with no problems. and leave it for two days and nothing. also while cranking the coil has a spark on one of the terminals witch goes from the nut to the spade connector. and every now and again while cranking it will atempt to start but not for long enought to start it. if that makes any sense.
