in my own stupidtiy i deleted a folder i didnt think i needed (and my recycle bin is emptied now) so how can i get it back?
what software can i download for free?
edit: im on vista 64bit ultimate iirc (if that makes a difference)

Do not write ANYTHING to the drive you've lost the folder from.
Download and install GetDataback. Install it to a different partition to where the folder is missing from if you can...or even a USB memory stick
This software should do the trick.

what do you mean dont write anything to he drive i lost the folder from?
you mean dont save the program to it? or wont put the data back onto the same drive?

Try doing a system restore.
Thats sometimes done the trick for me

System restore only corrects registy changes. As Andrew says...this wont help you in this situation one but.

jjust trying what andrew posted, takes bloody ages dam me and deleting alot of images. shame i cant see a way of filtering it to the last few days

got quite a few of the images back i wanted, had to go through 40000 files only got half way til my fingers started to hurt

if your on vista it does shadow copies. Right click the folder that used to contain the subfolder you have removed and go to properties. From here there should be a "previous version" tab, this should list all snapshots of that folder, pick an older date and click on view or open (cant remember) the sub folder you removed should be in there on one of the previous dates.
