hi guys, put a c20xe out of mk 2 gte in my corsa 6 months ago. sorted all teething probs out finaly. apart from the most irotating. idiling at over 1,800rpm. manged to read faults and code came up with no rpm signal. also i dont have a bulb in eml is this related?

i have changed the i.c.v. along with air mass and most other sensors.

My car was doing this, i took my air filter out, put it back in and found that it was idling at 2k, In the end it was a pipe that had come off at the back, Not sure what its called but ill try and find out..

i have checked all pipes cant see any cracks or problems. will double check at the weekend. i changed the crank sensor for 1 of my spare engine did't know if i sholud try a new one?

I'd be looking for a vacuum leak as well, mine was doing this just the other week.

it will come up with no rpm signal if the engines not running mate i would say icv or air leak mate

I have changed the icv, and double checked for leaks still no improvment. its really stumped me.

how did you manage read the codes without an eml on?

No rpm signal will be the throttle positioning sensor. Its on the side of the throttle body.

i just dont hav a bulb in the eml. it still read the faults. i have changed the tps aswell. changed just about every thing goin.

It is actually the crank sensor if no RPM signal, as a mate was at vauxhall yesterday with his corsa plugged in the diagnostic and no RPM came up, changed the crank sensor and the car worked fine after.

as stated before will come up with no rpm (crank sensor if the cars not running) they all do,

don't change the crank sensor, as said already thats is showing up due to engine not running, id be looking at an air or vacuum leak on the inlet side. Failing that ICV

i have changed the icv and there are no leaks, checked, and changed gaskets
