I'm in the middle of swapping a clutch on a N reg Punto for a mate.
I knew the clutch was in a real bad way as the car wouldn't drive. Upon removing the gearbox I was shocked to find the were only 2 forks left on the pressure plate, The thrust bearing was in pieces and welded to the clutch arm which is slightly bent now.

So at the very least I need a replacement clutch arm but I also found some grooves worn into the shaft that the thrust bearing sits on.
Question is can a sand the shaft down 1 or 2mm to get the shafts smooth again or is the gearbox junk?

Anybody know?
