When making a custom inlet what are you looking for?
Are you looking for the amount of air/fuel it can hold between the throttle body and ports?
A smooth curve of air from intake to ports?
I like the idea of powerboxes but IMO they arent the best looking things ever If i could figure out exactly what makes the perfect inlet i could design something that may be a bit harder and more expensive to make but would look better, so any comments are welcome!
What size of throttle body would you use for each engine to see a good gain? 1.0 12v, 1.2 16v, 1.2 8v, 1.4 8v, 1.4 16v, 1.6 16v...
If i could come up with a decent design, build a few prototypes and then maybe put them into production it would be a rival for the powerbox (sorry Flame) but offers a bit more choice.

the only way i could see you improving on the powerbox is if you could make one sort of like an exhaust manifold but for the inlet.
the bottom half of the x14xe and x16xe has 4 inlet tubes, one going to each cylinder. could you not bend some alloy pipe and carry all these on and bend them to the left and then weld them together making them 1 bigger tube that the trottle body could go on the end off.
like a 4-2-1 that bends to the left with the trottlebody on the end.
just an idea

aslong as performance is on par with the powerbox its not really that important im more after looks so something like the one in this pic

something that would mean you wouldn't have to change the lower inlet manifold on the c16xe would be an advantage aswell,
have you seen the design for the 1.8's?
that with some fetteling and redesigning would look good.

the bottom one would be good but have the pipes bending more so there is no 90degree angles for the air get round. anything has got be better than the standard shit. would u be able to cut the standard inlet in half and shand down and polish the inside of that.
wouldnt that make an improvement as the inside of the standard inlet is rough so not good for airflow. isnt that how the lexumal works, as it is very simlar to the standard inlet except a slight bend but i bet it is nice and smooth inside.. (sorry about spelling)

if you want to make one i would defo leave the bottom half of the inlet alone. maybe abit of snading down and polishing but nothing major. as then u dont need worry about injectors.

looks better than a powerbox, but as i said a bit of re-designing and it will look good

that must be the best for the corsa c. and to be hounest he is the guy that makes and sells the vxperformance powerboxes for the corsa b. so if he has decided to make the powerbox for the b and not that type, then i would assume the powerbox is the best one for the x14 and x16xe.
that inlet looks alot like the diblas

excuse the shit drawing but just a quick design. this would be the front view with the ports going to the lower inlet. it would look pretty much the same from top view minus the port tubes. i think the rounded design would help airflow as it would be cylinder shaped.

the port tubes would obviously be a lot shorter than that aswel maybe only long enough to be able to put a flate plate across them
